Recipes
Import, organize, and cook recipes with pantry-aware support.
Recipes are the center of the app. You can capture recipes from almost anywhere, adapt them for your household, and use pantry-aware signals to decide what to cook next.
What you can do here
- Create recipes manually or import from a URL, photo, or ebook
- Organize with tags, favorites, and collections
- Track ingredient completeness based on your pantry
- Use preparation mode with timers while cooking
- Keep a cooking log so recipes improve with each attempt
How to get the most from recipes
1. Start with the fastest import path
Use URL or photo import when possible, then clean up ingredient names and quantities. Small edits upfront improve matching to pantry items later.
2. Add structure for future you
Add tags (like quick, high-protein, weeknight) and mark favorites. This makes filtering and meal planning much faster.
3. Check pantry completeness before cooking
Look at ingredient coverage to spot missing items early. If completeness is high, you can usually cook immediately with minor substitutions.
4. Log cooking sessions and tweaks
After preparing a recipe, save notes like timing changes or substitutions. Over time, your version becomes better than the original source.
Pro tips
- Keep recipe names clear and consistent for easier search
- Group related dishes into collections (for example, "Meal Prep" or "Holiday")
- Use public sharing when you want friends and family to access a recipe link
