Households & Sharing
Collaborate with your household through invites and shared activity.
Kitchen is designed for shared use. Households let multiple people collaborate on pantry, recipes, and grocery lists without duplicated effort or mixed signals.
What you can do here
- Create or join one or more households
- Invite family, roommates, or partners by email
- Share pantry updates, recipe changes, and shopping progress
- Manage roles so the right people can edit and administer settings
Collaboration basics
Household scope
Each household has its own data. Pantry items, lists, and planning stay tied to the household you are currently in.
Invitations and roles
Invite members by email and choose an appropriate role:
- Owner: full control of the household
- Admin: can manage most workflows and invites
- Member: can collaborate on day-to-day usage
Shared activity in practice
When someone updates pantry status or checks off grocery items, others see that change quickly, which helps avoid double-work.
Tips for smooth household use
- Keep roles minimal and elevate only when needed
- Use clear list names (for example, "Costco Week 3")
- Encourage everyone to update pantry status right after cooking or shopping
